Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Xu Jinghu Visited Seychelles

From 14 to 16 June 2017, Special Representative of the Chinese Government on African Affairs Xu Jinghu visited Seychelles, during which she met with President Danny Faure and held talks with Foreign Secretary Claude Morel. The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on development of bilateral relations. Also present at the meetings was Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles H.E. Mme. Yu Jinsong.

Special Representative Xu Jinghu said China enjoys a traditional friendship with Seychelles. Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1976, bilateral relations have always been healthy and stable, which has set up an example of sincere, friendly, united and cooperative relations between large and small countries. Mutual political trust has been continuously strengthened with fruitful pragmatic cooperation in various fields and forged friendship between the two countries. China-Seychelles relations are now facing new and important opportunities of development. China is willing to further promote all-round friendly cooperation at different levels and continue to support national construction of Seychelles.

President Danny Faure and Foreign Secretary Claude Morel said Seychelles-China friendship is solid. Seychelles appreciates China’s long-time contribution to its social and economic development and takes China as a good friend and good brother. Seychelles is ready to work with China to expand mutual beneficial cooperation in Blue Economy, tourism, health, sports and security, and push forward the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

During the visit, Special Representative Xu Jinghu accepted a joint interview by SBC TV station, Seychelles Nation and other local media.
