Ambassador Yu Jinsong Laid Foundation Stone for Corgat Estate Redevelopment Project

On 13 July 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Seychelles H.E. Mme. Yu Jinsong and Minister for Habitat, Infrastructure and Land Transport Charles Bastienne inaugurated the laying of the foundation stone for the Phase Three Corgat Estate redevelopment project aided by China. Also present at the ground-breaking ceremony were Dr. Patrick Herminie, Secretary of State Responsible for Prevention of Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation, Dick Esparon, Secretary of State Responsible for Poverty Alleviation and Hon. Jean-Francois Farrari, member of the National Assembly.

Ambassador Yu said Corgat Estate project is another symbol of China-Seychelles profound friendship. She hopes with joint efforts, the project will improve living standards of residents from the community. Minister Bastienne expressed gratitude to the People's Republic of China for all the help and support to Seychelles. He said the ministry will follow up the project together with other partners.

After the remarks, Ambassador Yu and Minister Bastienne laid the foundation stone with some guests present at the event.

The project is one of China's donations to Seychelles. It includes construction of 32 units of four buildings, with a total construction area of 2880 square meters.
